I'm blogging from Truman School where the Wi-Fi is secure, the lunch was delicious and all of the talk at the Second Annual Telecommunications Symposium is about federal preemption. As we say south of the Mason-Dixon line, there's them that's for'in and there's them that's again'in. This crowd is predominately against preemption. Regardless of what is printed on the agenda, preemption is the big topic of the day. Unfortunately, I believe that only Steve Titch and I are the only attendees who have read the new PFF DACA report that dives deep on this topic.
The school has drawn a good crowd. Many, many communities sent city attorneys and other folks with a municipal background. A healthy dose of legislators and at least four of the five MO PSC commissioners are here for the day. I have the good fortune of sitting with Commissioner Murray during the plenary session. She was nice enough to pat me on the back after my remarks. Surely one would expect such a kind and accomplished woman to have better sense about speeches. (I'll post the comments after I solve some minor technical difficulties. Posting files still is beyond my blog-skill level.)
