And They Are Off...

This morning Ray Gifford kicked off the Aspen Summit with a thematic address on the tensions and differences between a commons and a property rights approach to the digital age. He hit on Whigs, Tories, the 18th Century Enclosure Movement as well as Larry Lessig, contemporary rent-seeking in Washington, D.C. and why the realm of "legislative regulation" that is marked by the creation of positive property rights through the administrative state, is less stable, less liberty enhancing, and less socially beneficial.

I'll see if we can get Ray to post his speech to this space for comment from the blogsphere. Now we're into the heart of communications reform with a panel discussion lead by Randy May.
