A Prediction

Yogi Berra used to say, "Predictions are tough if they involve the future." How true, and I might add "especially here in Washington."

But I will go out on a limb and predict that one day in the not too distant future, Congress will enact a new communications law that looks a lot like, or moves very substantially in the direction of, the proposal released on Friday by the DACA Regulatory Framework Group. The logic is irresistible. Read the proposal and background report here.

We're gratified to have Senator John Ensign, Represenative Chip Pickering, and FCC Commissioner Kathleen Abernathy with us to deliver remarks to help us launch discussion of our proposal. With this type of high-level interest from leading policymakers and thinkers in the communications field, our DACA proposal seems destined to receive the serious attention it deserves.

Join us for our public workshop tommorrow from 10 am - 2 pm when we will explain the proposal, hear from Sen. Ensign, Rep. Pickering, and Commissioner Abernathy, and get reactions from industry and public representatives--and you.
